A BILL

 

for

 

 1  AN ACT relating to public records; clarifying the
 2  definition of "person in interest"; and providing for an
 3  effective date.

 4 

 5  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

 6 

 7         Section 1.  W.S. 16-4-201(a)(iii) is amended to read

 8 

 9         16-4-201.  Definitions.

10 

11         (a)  As used in this act:

12 

13              (iii)  "Person in interest" means the person who
14  is the subject of a record or any representative designated
15  by the person, except if the subject of the record is under
16  legal disability or is the dependent high school student of

 1  his parents and is not attending a post-secondary education
 2  institution, "person in interest" means the parent or duly
 3  appointed legal representative;

 4 

 5         Section 2.  This act is effective immediately upon
 6  completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
 7  as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
 8  Constitution.
