Unlawful killing of wild horses.

A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to the
killing of wild horses; creating a

misdemeanor for the killing of wild horses; providing for
3
penalties; and providing for an effective date.

5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:

7 Section 1. W.S. 11-30-115 is created to read:
8
9 11-30-115. Unlawful killing of wild horses.
10
11 (a) For
purposes of this section "wild horse" means a
12 horse, mare, filly or colt which is
unbranded and unclaimed
13 and lives on state or public land.
14
15 (b) Any person,
without legal justification, who
16 willfully and maliciously kills a
wild horse is guilty of a
17 misdemeanor punishable by a fine of
not more than two

dollars ($2,000.00), imprisonment for not more

than six (6), months or both.

4 Section 2. This act is effective July 1, 2001.
