Select Committee on School Facilities Meeting Summary (December 4-5, 2002)

The Select Committee on School Facilities met jointly with the School Facilities Commission in Cheyenne to review Commission remedies for those building inadequacies identified by 2002 statutes and for which remedies were initiated at the August meeting.  Remedies were based upon schematic design documents developed by the districts and reviewed by Commission consulting expertise.  Final action on all but one building remedy was tabled until the December 18, 2002 meeting.

 

Initial reports on facility guidelines and building adequacy standards were also considered at this meeting.  Reported information was based upon work of an advisory committee assembled by the Commission, consisting of district administrators and architects, as well as Commission members and staff.  It is anticipated project remedies will be assembled and costed for discussion at the December 18, 2002 meeting, and finalized for presentation to the 2003 Legislature through the Commission’s supplemental budget request.
