Distance Education Programs.

2007 Laws, Chapter 147, Section 3 requires the State Superintendent, in consultation with a task force created by law, to develop recommendations on state oversight, assistance and guidance for the development, operation and funding of distance education programs by school districts as extensions to or a component of public school education programs.

At-Risk Programs.

2007 Laws, Chapter 147, Section 1 requires the Department of Education to continue its review of at-risk resources generated under the block grant school funding model and the at-risk strategies employed by districts with at-risk resources.  Based upon school district data describing program structure, content, delivery and program effectiveness, the Department is directed to provide recommendations on necessary refinement of model components supporting at-risk students.  The Department is further directed to include recommendations on funding alternative schools as one component of a total at-risk program strategy subject to established program criteria.

Charter Schools.

2007 Laws, Chapter 84 refined the Wyoming Charter School Law application process.  In response, the

District Litigation Expenditure Report.

2006 Laws, Chapter 37, Section 11 imposed reporting requirements upon school districts to report expenditures of public monies on matters related to school finance litigation and required the Department of Education to compile the reports and to annually present the compilation to the Committee.

Block Grant Model Administration Reports.

W.S. 21‑2‑202(e) requires the Department of Education to administer the block grant model and to make necessary corrections and recommendations to the Committee on model administration.

2007 Laws, Chapter 147, Section 2 at 202(a)(ii), requires the Department of Education to report on the instructional facilitator program established by model recalibration under 2006 Laws, Chapter 37, Section 4, and based upon its review, recommend the manner and level of program continuation.
