A joint meeting of the Select Water Committee and the Wyoming Water Development Commission (WWDC) was held on June 7, 2007. The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. The order of the meeting generally followed the prepared agenda, Appendix 2. The purpose of the meeting for the Select Water Committee was to begin its approved interim work including the oversight and approval of certain water project documents.
Senator Vasey moved the minutes of the December 15, 2006 meeting of the Select Water Committee be approved. The motion passed.

Following discussion, Representative Philp moved that the Committee approve the contracts. The motion passed.
Mr. Purcell gave a summary of the previous day's workshop. Topics discussed included dams and reservoirs, water project criteria, rural water development projects, the loan/grant mix for water development projects, the formation of a public entity during the three levels of water development project phases, instream flow laws, and funding feasibility studies in areas where there is little chance of development.
Mr. Purcell also indicated that the Water Development Office received an appropriation from the Legislature for a water summit to be held jointly with the Indian Tribes. Senator Case is working on the summit which will be held October 2 through 4, 2007. There is funding to reimburse members of the Select Water Committee should they wish to attend.
Mr. Dan Budd of the Water Development Commission provided an update on the Colorado River Basin including information on the salinity control measures and potential oil shale development.
Mr. Purcell announced the next meeting will be held August 23 and 24, 2007 including a water tour on August 23. The meeting will be held in the Gillette area.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
