The current contractual agreement, as required under federal regulations, between the Department of Employment and federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) requires the specific type of wage disparity issues addressed in the legislation to be referred to EEOC for review and adjudication.  In order to meet the requirements of the federal contract and avoid potential duplication of responsibilities, the Department would continue to refer wage cases to EEOC and there would be no fiscal impact to the state.
