AGENCY: Miner's Hospital Board.
DATE SUBMITTED: April 25, 2008.
SUBJECT: Chapter 2, Services for Miners.
NATURE OF RULES: Legislative.
STATUTORY AUTHORITY: W.S. 30-6-102
DETERMINATION OF PROCEDURAL COMPLIANCE BASED UPON INFORMATION
SUBMITTED BY THE AGENCY TO LSO: Apparently complete to date.
SUMMARY OF RULES: Wyoming Statutes, Title 30, Chapter 6, creates the State Miner's Hospital Board and miner's hospital board account. The Board is charged with administering a program of health care benefits for disabled or incapacitated miners, subject to oversight by a legislative committee. The Board in 2006 created a medical assistance benefit and hearing aid benefit for eligible miners. These rules amend existing Board rules to increase the annual medical assistance benefits payable from the account from $1,000 to $5,000, and increase the maximum hearing aid benefit from $1,000 to $2,000, for expenses not covered by other insurance or programs.
FINDINGS: The rules appear to be within the scope of statutory authority and legislative intent.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: That the rules be placed on the Consent List and be approved by the Council as submitted by the Board.
