SUBJECT:                                 Chapter 1, General (A) Amended; Chapter 7, Occupational Health & Environmental Control (G) Repeal; Chapter 9, Personal Protective Equipment (I) Repeal; Chapter 17, Weld Cutting and Brazing (Q) Repeal; Chapter 8, Hazardous Materials (H) Repeal; and Chapter 26, Toxic & Hazardous Substances (Z); General Rules 1910 and Construction Rules 1926.

 

NATURE OF RULES:                     Legislative and procedural.

 

STATUTORY AUTHORITY:         W.S. 27-11-105(b)(ii).

 

DETERMINATION OF PROCEDURAL COMPLIANCE BASED UPON INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY THE AGENCY TO LSO:  Apparently complete to date.

 

SUMMARY OF RULES:  These rules are being amended to:  incorporate the latest requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) sections of the Occupational Health and Safety Commission's rules on general industry standards for eye and face protective devices, head protection and foot protection devices, including references to the most recent editions of national consensus standards that must be met if purchased before a specified date; update references to standards published by standards developing organizations (SDO) with respect to acetylene standards; and revise notification requirements in the exposure determination provisions of the standards for Hexavalent Chromium.

 

FINDINGS:  The rules appear to be within the scope of legislative intent and statutory authority.

 

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:  That the rules be placed on the Consent List and approved by the Council as submitted.
