TUESDAY - JUNE 29, 2010 – POWDER RIVER BASIN TOUR FOR BOTH

JOINT MINERALS AND JOINT REVENUE COMMITTEES

The Tour is sponsored by Alpha Resources, Rural Electric Association and Williams Companies

7:30 a.m.         The Powder River Basin Tour (Tour) will depart from the Holiday Inn Express for the Eagle Butte mine north of Gillette.

 

11:00 a.m.       Brief break

 

11:15 a.m.       Depart mine site for Williams coalbed methane properties

 

Noon               Barbecue at one of coalbed methane producing fields – weather permitting

 

2:00 p.m.         Travel to Dry Fork's power plant

 

5:30 p.m.         Approximate time Tour will return to Holiday Inn Express

 

7:00 p.m.         Dinner for Committee – Prime Rib Restaurant

 

Sufficient buses will be chartered for the Tour.  Buses will have bathroom facilities on the bus.  No private vehicles will be allowed because of safety considerations.

        Requisite safety presentations will be given to all Tour participants.

        Bring a warm jacket if the weather is cool.  A hat and sunglasses are recommended.

        Wear walking closed toe shoes.

 

RSVP:  Except for members of the Joint Minerals, Business and Economic Development Interim Committee and members of the Joint Revenue Interim Committee, anyone planning to attend the Tour need to RSVP to Maxine Weaver or Kelley Shepp at 307-777-7881 or mweave@state.wy.us or kshepp@state.wy.us by June 15, 2010.  This will allow for adequate planning for transportation and refreshments.  This RSVP applies to any legislator other than the two committees listed above, for local governmental representatives, for agency representatives and for members of the public who plan to participate on the Tour.
