Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Current law allows life insurance policies to exclude coverage for deaths resulting from any cause while serving in the military, if the country is engaged in military action.

 

·        This bill allows the exclusion only if the death results from an act of war or hazard of war.

 

·        The act applies to policies issued, renewed or delivered for issuance after its effective date.
