Subject:  Exempts disabled resident veterans eligible for disabled veteran's license plates from motor vehicle registration fees.

 

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        The bill exempts disabled resident veterans who are eligible for disabled veteran's license plates from paying motor vehicle registration fees.

 

·        In order to qualify, the veteran must apply for the exemption not less than thirty days before the last day of the vehicle's annual registration month.

 

·        County treasurers must file a notice to the department of revenue of the number of exemptions granted and the fiscal impact of those exemptions.
