Catch Title:       Alcohol beverages-acceptable forms of identification.

 

Subject:  Increases the types of acceptable forms of identification for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.

 

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Under current law, a driver's license, selective service registration card, military identification card or a passport may be used as acceptable forms of identification to purchase alcoholic beverages in the state.

 

·        This bill increases and clarifies what forms of identification may be accepted for the purchase of alcoholic beverages, to include a driver's license issued by any state, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada or Mexico, or a permanent resident card issued by the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services.

 

·        The bill eliminates the selective service registration card as an acceptable form of identification.
