Subject:  Provides for a study of the Horse Creek conservation district and the Hawk Springs reservoir.

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        The Horse Creek conservation district uses the Hawk Springs reservoir for needed irrigation water.  The drought has caused a shortage of water for the district.

 

·        Bill requires the Wyoming water development office to conduct a study of the district and the reservoir including pertinent access issues, land ownership issues, reservoir condition and maintenance, siltation factors, irrigation needs, recreational needs, fishery needs, impacts of drought and other conditions to assist in making plans and recommendations for the long-term management of the reservoir.

 

·        The study must be completed by December, 2006 and reported to the select water committee.
