Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Specifies procedures that will allow the legislative service office and the management audit committee to disclose information from program evaluation audits that uncover apparent criminal violations.

 

·        Allows the director of the LSO and the chairman of the management audit committee to discuss any program evaluation report with the governor at any stage of the program evaluation.

 

·        Provides for disclosure to the attorney general of any discovery of an apparent criminal violation uncovered during a program evaluation and provides procedures for the disclosure.

 

·        Requires the LSO to release program evaluation materials in response to a court subpoena in a criminal proceeding.
