Subject:  Adopts the interstate Pest Control Compact

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        This act creates the Pest Control Compact in Wyoming.

 

·        Establishes protocol for Wyoming to cooperate with other states in the control or eradication of pests.

 

·        Establishes the "pest control insurance account" for the purposes of financing pest control operations and provides for the administration of the account.

 

·        Allows for advisory and technical committees to assist with the management of the compact and account.

 

·        Provides for budgeting and financing of the account.

 

·        Provides for the director of the department of agriculture to be the compact administrator and for the governor to be the "executive head".

 

Comments:

 

· Creates a major program:  Creates the Pest Control Compact within the department of agriculture.
