Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Current law provides that volunteer ambulance services and their volunteer staff are immune from civil liability for ordinary negligence;

 

·        This act extends the immunity to:

 

o       Physicians serving as medical directors of volunteer ambulance services;

 

o       Hospitals and their employees for emergency medical services training activities;

 

o       Emergency medical services trainees.
