Subject:  Administration of and eligibility requirements for the Wyoming investment in nursing loan and grant program.

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Transfers administration of the Wyoming investment in nursing loan and grant program from the Wyoming higher education assistance authority to the community college commission, including the transfer of positions, personnel, property and appropriated funds;

 

·        With respect to nursing loans for registered nurses entering a master's program, preference is to be given to those registered nurses teaching at the University of Wyoming or a Wyoming college.  If the applicant registered nurse is not accepted into a program at the University and upon approval of the commission, the loan may be used at an accredited program offered by a university located outside of Wyoming;

 

·        Work qualifying for nursing loan repayment by loan recipients attending a master's or doctorate level program is specified, one year for master's program recipients and two (2) years for doctorate level program recipients.
