Subject:  Provides for the authorized mileage reimbursement rate for legislators.

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Provides for legislators to receive reimbursement for mileage driven on legislative business in a motor vehicle.

 

·        Provides that the state auditor will establish the mileage rate to be "reflective of the average of all direct and indirect costs of driving a motor vehicle."

 

·        In establishing the rate, the state auditor:

o                               May use a rate established by another entity if the rate reflects actual costs;

o                               Shall adjust the rate each year on January 1;

o                               Shall not set the rate exceeding the maximum rate allowed by the IRS.
