Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Requires the School Facilities Commission to review proposed sales of existing land owned by a district which is within the scope of the district's facility plan;

 

·        Grants authority to the Commission to disapprove land sales if land disposition adversely impacts the cost-effectiveness of the district's facility plan and the financial interests of the state;

 

·        If land sale not approved, permits the Commission to consider land sale revenues in any future building or facility remedy and to direct the Department of Education to consider sale revenues as a local resource for purposes of computing foundation program entitlements;

 

·        Requires districts to include land disposition within facility plans submitted to the Commission.
