Subject:  Modifies membership of hospital district boards of trustees.

 

Summary/Major Elements:

 

• Current law provides for six hospital district trustees.  This bill provides that a hospital district board of trustees may choose to consist of five or seven members.  If a board does not elect to expand to seven members the board shall consist of five members.

 

• Provides for adjustment of the board at the next election of the trustees.

 

• Provides that no current term of any trustee shall be affected.

 

• Provides that, if an additional hospital district trustee is authorized after the effective date of the act, a trustee shall be appointed as provided in W.S. 22-29-202, which allows appointment by a majority of the existing board of trustees, or by the county commissioners if the board can't decide upon a trustee, who shall serve until the next election.
