Summary/Major Elements:

 

·        Under current law, any civil action where the amount claimed, exclusive of costs, does not exceed $3,000.00 may be tried before a circuit court judge or a full-time magistrate of the circuit court who is not licensed to practice law in Wyoming, but who is acting under supervision of a circuit court judge.

 

·        This bill increases the maximum amount of a claim that can be tried before a circuit court judge or a full-time magistrate acting under the supervision of a circuit court judge from $3,000.00 to $5,000.00.
