Subject: Historic Wyoming mine locations, mine trails and byways linking historic Wyoming mines.
Summary/Major Elements:
· Establishes an historic mine trail and byway commission of 7 voting members and 2 legislative nonvoting members to create and maintain a historic mine trails and byway system in Wyoming;
· Provides a mechanism for commission organization of advisory groups to assist in a nomination process to the trails and byways system;
· Requires the commission to annually review and determine segment additions to the trails and byways system, to consult with private landowners and appropriate local governmental entities in system development, to develop promotional materials supporting the system and to establish policy governing system development and expansion;
· Provides $50,000 in general funds to the department of state parks and cultural resources to fund commission expenses and requires the department to provide necessary administrative support to the commission;
· Requires the commission to annually report to the governor and the legislature.
