Subject: Amends formula for distribution of funds from Department of Education to Developmental Disabilities Division

Summary/Major Elements:

· The federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act makes grant funds available to states for the education of students with disabilities. The Wyoming Department of Education receives those grant funds and distributes some of the funds to the Department of Health's Developmental Disabilities Division, which provides educational services to pre-school children with disabilities. This act:

o Creates a formula for the distribution of a portion of federal funds from the Department of Education to the Developmental Disabilities Division of the Department of Health;

o Directs that, for purposes of the distribution formula, children receiving developmental preschool services through DDD be counted as of December 1^st of the preceding year.
