Catch Title: Cost of care bonding.

Subject: Provides for bonds for animal care costs.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Provides for any peace officer, agent or officer of the livestock board to take possession and impound any animal treated cruelly.

· Requires the owner of an impounded animal to post a bond to cover the cost of care of the impounded animal.

· Requires the owner of an impounded animal to be responsible for the cost of care of the impounded animal.

· If the owner does not post a bond, the bill allows the livestock board to determine the final disposition of the impounded animal. The owner is liable for final disposition costs.

· Provides for any peace officer, agent or officer of the livestock board to interfere to prevent an act of cruelty upon an animal in his presence.

· Repeals W.S. 11-29-107 regarding the authority of any officer of agent of the Livestock board, a peace officer or agent of the livestock board authorized by the sheriff to make arrests for treating animals cruelly.
