Summary/Major Elements: This act:

· Directs Department of Transportation to adopt a system of real-time verification of motor vehicle insurance by authorized users;

· Authorizes the department to contract with a private vendor to implement the verification system;

· Specifies security and access features of the system;

· Provides that information obtained through the insurance verification system is not a public record;

· Requires implementation of the system by July 1, 2008;

· Requires insurers to cooperate in making data available for the verification system.

· $250,000 general fund appropriation to WyDoT
