Subject: Amends the Medical practice act.

Summary/Major Elements:

· The bill creates a medical training license for physicians in residency programs in the state, which provides for a term that expires at 12:01 a.m. on July 1 each year.

· The bill permits the board of medicine to deny licensure to any person who has pled guilty to or been convicted of a felony.

· The bill permits the board of medicine to order a licensee to be examined for mental, physical or medical competency and permits the board to amend a disciplinary proceeding to include a claim based on that examination.
