Subject:  Amends motor vehicle registration, traffic regulation and driver licensing laws to provide for "multi-purpose vehicles."

Summary/Major Elements:

This act:

· Defines "multipurpose vehicle" as a vehicle having an identifying number, having at least four wheels, weighing 300 to 3,000 pounds and having an upright seat at least 24 inches from the ground;

· Provides for registration, registration fees and license plates for multipurpose vehicles;

· Authorizes operation of multipurpose vehicles on streets and highways but not interstate highways and subject to slow moving vehicle requirements;

· Prescribes minimum equipment requirements for multipurpose vehicles;

· Authorizes the holder of any class of driver's license to drive a multipurpose vehicle.
