Catch Title:       Quality child care appropriations.

Subject:  Appropriations related to Quality Child Care (see HB0095/HEA0103).

Summary/Major Elements:  This act reappropriates funds in support of the quality child care system and appropriated by the 2006 Legislature.  The system is amended by 2007 House Bill 95 (HEA 103).  The appropriations include:

· $1,553,000 distributed for:

o $300,000 for educational grants;

o $300,000 for continuing education training grants;

o $100,000 for business management services;

o $500,000 for parent education and public awareness programs;

o $100,000 for technical assistance to child caring facilities;

o $100,000 for family strengthening programs;

o $153,000 for administrative costs.

· $4,534,308 to increase reimbursement for child care under the Child Care Development Fund to 75% of the statewide average market rate, and to provide an additional $1.40/hour for care of children less than one year old, and an additional $1.50/hour for care of children between one and two years old.
