Subject:  Clarifies that harassment includes lewd or obscene statements or images, for purposes of the crime of stalking.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Under current law, the definition of "harass", for purposes of the crime of stalking, includes verbal or written threats, vandalism or nonconsensual physical contact, directed at a specific person or the person's family, which the defendant knew or should have known would cause a reasonable person to suffer substantial emotional distress, and which does in fact seriously alarm the person toward whom it is directed.

· This act amends the definition of "harass" to include lewd or obscene statements or images.
