Summary/Major Elements:

· Current law provides student loan repayment programs to assist physicians, dentists and allied health care providers with student loan repayment obligations, upon the providers' agreement to practice under certain conditions in an underserved area of the state for three years.

· This act amends those programs to clarify that loans incurred for related undergraduate education are eligible for the repayment programs, as well as professional graduate education.
