Catch Title:       State employee health insurance-dependents of deceased.

Subject:           Extended health insurance coverage for dependants of employees who suffer a work related death.

Summary/Major Elements:

· The act requires the state auditor to pay for six months of health insurance coverage for the dependents of any employee enrolled in the state employee and officials group insurance program with dependent coverage and who suffers a work related death.

· The coverage extends for six months after the date of the employee's death.

· The auditor is responsible for paying the agency's contribution and the dependent's are responsible for the employee's share of the contribution for that period.

· Provides a general fund appropriation of $50,000 for the remainder of the current fiscal year and for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2007.
