Summary/Major Elements:

· The bill provides that the department of state parks and cultural resources may enter into a contract to facilitate the collection, editing and publishing of documents of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody that have historical significance.

· The bill requires that the contract must include provisions that copies of any volume created must be provided to the University of Wyoming, the state library and each community college library, that 5% of royalties be provided to the state, that the state be mentioned in the acknowledgements and that the department participate in selecting the historians.

· The bill provides that state funds can only be spent to the extent they match funds from other sources.

· The bill provides an appropriation from the budget reserve account of $300,000.
