Summary/Major Elements:

· Clarifies use of that portion of district major maintenance payments which may be expended for major maintenance needs not specified in a district's facility plan, including expenditure for maintenance of district enhancements;

· Law existing prior to this enactment allows up to 10% of major maintenance payments for any school year to be expended upon maintenance of enhancements provided the district's needs as specified within its facility plan are being addressed;

· Under the enacted law, this 10% allowance may be accumulated and carried over into subsequent years provided the amount is reported within the district's annual major maintenance report to the School Facilities Commission.
