Summary/Major Elements:

· Current law requires screening of newborns for illnesses and conditions specified by a designated committee.

· This act authorizes the Department of Health to establish by rule and regulation a fee schedule for metabolic and hearing screenings, with proceeds continuously appropriated to a special account for the newborn screening program.
