Catch Title: Public works contracts-resident preferences.
Subject: Amendments to resident preferences for public works contracting.
Summary/Major Elements: This act:
· Amends the definition of "resident" for purposes of public works contract preferences to include a "limited partnership, registered limited partnership, registered limited liability company or corporation" if each member or shareholder has been a resident of the state for at least one year;
· Authorizes a resident preference if the contractor is not a resident but has maintained an office in Wyoming and has had at least 15 employees in Wyoming for at least one year;
· Raises the prohibition on a preferred resident contractor subcontracting to a non-resident from 20% to 30% of the work covered by the contract;
· Limits the preference for Wyoming materials and agricultural products to contracts of $5 Million or less.
