Catch Title:       Health care-rehabilitation facility.

Subject:  Amends the definition of health care facility to include residential facilities

Summary/Major Elements:

· Current law requires all health care facilities, including rehabilitation facilities, to be licensed by the department of health.

· Bill amends the definition of "rehabilitation facility" to include a residential facility which is operated for the primary purpose of assisting the rehabilitation of disabled persons.

· Also amends the definition to clarify that persons with acquired brain injury are included in the phrase "disabled persons".

Comment:

Wyoming Life Resource Center (formerly Wyoming Training School) is a residential treatment facility which treats persons with acquired brain injuries.  Law requires a rehab facility to be licensed so law was amended to allow the Center to become licensed.
