Summary/Major Elements:

· This bill:

o Creates the crime of intimidation in furtherance of the interests of a criminal street gang;

o Provides that a person who threatens or intimidates by word or conduct to do physical injury another person or to do damage to property of another to promote, further or assist in the interest of, or to cause, induce or solicit another person to participate in a criminal street gang, is guilty of a misdemeanor with a penalty of imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of up to $1,000.00, or both;

o Defines "criminal street gang" and "pattern of criminal street gang activity," including the activities that may constitute criminal street gang activity.
