Catch Title:       Armed forces license plate fees and distribution.

Subject:  Payment of fees for armed forces special license plates and distribution of the fee.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Previously, applicants for an armed forces special license plate submitted a $50.00 fee which was deposited into the highway fund. 

· This legislation amends the statute to require each applicant to pay a $20.00 fee to the Wyoming Veteran's Commission upon which the Commission must certify the applicant's eligibility.  The $20.00 fee is deposited into the Commission's expendable trust fund, rather than into the highway fund.

· The legislation specifies that the applicant must also pay the $30.00 personalized license plate fee required by W.S. 31-3-102(a)(viii).  As a result, the total fee remains $50.00.

Comments:

· A report is required from WyDOT to the Joint Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs Committee, on or before October 1^st of each year, identifying all actions taken and monies expended pursuant to this legislation.
