·        The act provides that no one may allow a person under fifteen years old to use an ultraviolet tanning device unless the person's parent or legal guardian consents in writing and is present during the use of the device.

 

·        The act provides that no one may allow a person between fifteen and eighteen years old to use an ultraviolet tanning device unless the person's parent or legal guardian consents in writing.

 

·        The act specifies that standard forms of identification may be relied upon for proof of age.

 

·        Violation of the act is a misdemeanor punishable by a $250 fine.

 

·        The act defines ultraviolet tanning devices as equipment that emits electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths in the air between 200 and 400 nanometers used for tanning of the skin.
