Catch Title:       Eligibility concealed weapons permit.

Subject:  Modifies requirements for concealed weapons permits.

Summary/Major Elements:

· Under current law Wyoming recognizes concealed weapons permits issued by another state if the state recognizes Wyoming permits and has laws similar to Wyoming's as determined by the Attorney General, and including a criminal background check.

· This act removes the requirement that the other state has laws similar to Wyoming.

· Current law also prohibited the issuance of a permit if the person had been committed to a facility for abuse of alcohol or a controlled substance.  This bill limits that restriction by requiring that the commitment have been within one year of the application for the permit.

· Current law also prohibited the issuance of a permit if the person had been convicted of any controlled substance violation.  This bill limits that restriction by requiring that the conviction be a felony conviction or a misdemeanor conviction within one year of applying for the permit.
