Subject:            Increasing penalties for illegal fish stocking.

Summary/Major Elements:

· This act makes illegal stocking of fish a high misdemeanor.

· The act permits a court to revoke and suspend the privilege of purchasing any hunting, fishing or other game & fish license of any person convicted of illegal stocking of fish.  The suspension can be up to a lifetime suspension.

· The act allows the game and fish commission to bring a case for civil penalties against a person convicted of illegal stocking of fish.  Civil penalties are limited to the costs incurred by the commission in removing the illegally stocked fish.

· The act specifies that the escape of lawfully stocked fish or fish eggs does not constitute a violation.
