Subject:                     Hunting regulation.

Summary/Major Elements:

·        Under current law, no person shall take into or possess in the game fields and forests of the state any fully automatic weapon or device designed to silence or muffle the report of any firearm.

·        The act repeals the prohibition on taking into the game fields or forests a device designed to silence or muffle the report of any firearm, but makes it a separate high misdemeanor offense to use a device designed to silence or muffle the report of any firearm to:

·        Take certain game animals without a license or during a closed season;

·        Wantonly take or destroy any big or trophy game animal;

·        Take a big or trophy game animal while trespassing; or

·        Take a big or trophy game animal out of season.
